"The American Society for Aesthetics was founded in 1942 to promote study, research, discussion, and publication in aesthetics." The aim of the British Society of Aesthetics, founded in 1960, "is to promote study, research and discussion of the fine arts and related types of experience from a philosophical, psychological, sociological, scientific, historical, critical and educational standpoint." The contents include "articles about philosophy and the arts, information about aesthetics events worldwide, and links to other arts, philosophy and aesthetics-related resources on the internet (including the aesthetics email list)." There are also book lists, news, and a direct link to the journal site.
American Arts Alliance

The American Arts Alliance is an advocacy group for professional non-profit arts organizations representing arts interests and support to the Federal Government. Home page includes links to updates, materials, facts and links to other arts pages, as well as address, telephone, fax and email information.
American Society of Botanical Artists

A non-profit group dedicated to the promotion of botanical art, whether in the form of scientific illustration or realistic flower painting. Promotion is accomplished through exhibitions and media coverage. ASBA also "serves as a public clearing house for information about botanical art and artists." The page includes access to descriptions of the society's activities, a schedule of events, and the "Artist of the Month." An online membership form is available.

A non-profit association whose members include the nation's leading art dealers. "Its purposes are to promote the highest standards of connoisseurship, scholarship, and ethical practice within the profession" and to increase public awareness of the role of reputable art dealers. This comprehensive site provides links to member galleries, specialties, and exhibitions. It links to information about the association's annual benefit, "The Art Show", and to transcripts from the yearly held "Panels", a discussion of issues important in the art world. Excerpts from the newsletter, the "ADAA Report" and a list of museums are also available.

Art in the Public Interest is a nonprofit organization formed in 1995. Its purpose is "bring arts together with community and social concerns." API attempts to support culturally engaged artists and organizations by providing information to artists and the general public. API views the arts as an integral part of society, and promotes art that reflects the culture in which the works appear, in addition to supporting artistic quality. Selected articles from the quarterly publication, "High Performance" are available online. The home page includes access to an annotated bibliography and other related sites. Association of Hispanic Arts

"The Association of Hispanic Arts (AHA) is a not-for-profit arts organization, serving Latino/Latina artists, arts organizations, and the general public. Through its publications, technical assistance program, information and advocacy services, AHA works with Latino/Latina artists and organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area and other parts of the country to strengthen Latino cultural institutions and to bring the work of these artists to the public. Founded in 1911, the College Art Association promotes excellence in the teaching and scholarship of visual arts history and criticism, and in the creativity and technical skills in teaching and practicing art. Computers and the History of Art

"CHArt was established in 1985 by art and design historians who happened also to be computer enthusiasts. Initially a forum for the exchange of ideas between people who were using computers in their research, the largely academic membership was soon augmented by members from museums and art galleries, as well as individuals involved in the management of the visual and textual archives and libraries relevant to the subject. CHArt is a society open to all who have an interest in the application of computers to the study of art and design. American Academy of Equine Art

The American Academy of Equine Art is a non-profit organization, founded in 1980, to promote public recognition and to establish standards of excellence for equine painting. AAEA offers workshops and individual critiques, based on artists' photographed works, enabling the academy to fulfill it's original goal of being a teaching organization.
