Grant Writing and Other Fundraising InformationExample Questions That Can Be Answered Using This FAQ
Many of our patrons want to know how to write grants and find funders. We’ve found a number of sources that provide information to grantseekers and persons looking for general financial aid on the Internet. However, it is important to remember that a library is a good place to do research about grants as well. Grant writing is a popular subject, and so most libraries will try to keep up with the latest books on the topic. The Foundation Center is an excellent resource. In addition to its Web presence, it also maintains collections and specialists in physical libraries around the country. There is a web site for nonprofit organizations called, "Idealist.org". From this site you can see helpful information on their pageThe Nonprofit FAQ. This FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions list) contains a lot of good information about getting grants, and even includes some humor! GrantsWeb is written with academic research administrators in mind, but contains links useful for any grant seeker. The About.com Guide to Nonprofit Charitable Orgs has Help With Grants, a collection of links on the topics of grant writing and proposal development. For information about financial aid and other sources of funding for students, try the IPL’s TeenSpace Student Aid section. There is a good directory for finding your library. It is called LibWeb. Just select the type of library you would like to find, such as "Public Libraries," and then select your location. If you live in the United States, you can click on the State name to come to a list of libraries. |
